Crash Response now has the software and hardware to provide diagnostics of the Anti-lock Brake Systems of truck tractors and trailers. ABS systems from Merritor Wabco, Bendix, Wabash, Haldex and Eaton can be evaluated.
The purpose of an ABS system is to keep the brakes on a vehicle from locking. A locked wheel can cause the vehicle to lose directional control and it can also extend braking distances. Checking the ABS system allows the reconstructionist to determine if it played a role in the crash.
