Mr. Owen has been accepted as a member of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) and recently completed their Industry Roadside Inspection Course – Vehicle Requirements.
The focus of the week-long training was on commercial motor vehicle inspections and identifying out-of-service conditions. The course also covered the relationship between the federal regulations found in 49 CFR 393, 396 and Appendix G and out-of-service conditions.
The CVSA is a nonprofit association comprised of local, state, provincial, territorial and federal commercial motor vehicle safety officials and industry representatives representing the United States, Canada and Mexico. Their North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria is the pass-fail criteria for roadside safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles.
